The architecture of Avoca responds to its location with qualities inherent to the Domain Hill landscape: well-composed, calm and timeless. Solid forms and a restrained palette are balanced with sculptural elements and deep terraces fringed by greenery.

A heavy rectangular mass has been introduced using limestone and travertine, however, there is a juxtaposition of lightness within that form with gentle curves, punctuations of deep windows and a ribbon of planter boxes.

“The terraces are draped in greenery,
and with a depth to maximise views
outward but restrict views looking in.”

Pandolfini

Pandolfini Architects is a Melbourne-based practice with an award-winning portfolio across private residential, multi-residential and commercial projects.

The practice, led by director Dominic Pandolfini, embraces foundational principles of longevity, integrity and simplicity. As seen at Avoca, the architecture is also based upon a fundamental belief that architecture should inspire while also creating a sense of calm. Designs are driven by the needs of future inhabitants, a respect for the environment, and a constant drive to unlock the full potential of every material.

Pandolfini projects exude a genuinely distinct architectural expression. Avoca adds to the practice’s portfolio in this well-established tradition.
